Yo, I say I've gotten pretty good at the game but one of the main things tripping me up rn is drags and accels, I find them very difficult to fight against. What are the main counters against them? Judging from the fact that Mordhau is one of those games that released without creating any hype, it managed to garner some decent amount of players and has been well received by the community. But, it is a multiplayer title and most of the multiplayer titles nowadays suffer from performance issues. As more and more players are joining Mordhau, more and more problems are popping up. Players are complaining all over the forums that they are experiencing issues like lag, fps drops, stuttering, freezing and even crashes.
Fortunately, all these performance issues are nothing serious and can be easily fixed with few tweaks here and there. We have put up a basic Mordhau performance guide consisting of basic methods that players can try all by themselves to solve some of the problems they are having.

Outdated drivers could be the reason of performance loss at times. Here are the links to the latest drivers for AMD and Nvidia graphics cards:. Close any kind of overclocking utility or application that is running on your PC. Same is the case with Mordhau. The game was crashing constantly after we overclocked our GTX ti just a little bit.
We tried to reach to a stable overclocked core clock and memory clock but Mordhau was reluctant to run on our overclocked Graphics card. Things went back to normal as soon as we reset everything and closed Afterburner.

Best-case scenario players simply fight by moving their controller in the desired direction, I don't understand how there would be motion sickness As I have done vr before with a smooth, artificial locomotion mode and I did not ever experience any motion sickness.

Now that would be amazing. Problem is, most people don't have that kind of play space. Have you seen a duel server. All the dragging will make you dizzy. I actually managed to get myself dizzy once when I was making really crazy drags the whole server and that was without vr.

I remember seeing the devs say directly they have NO intentions of taking it out of ranked. Why was it taken out? It doesn't give an advantage over First, some people just prefer it. Kinda sad to see it removed. Guess I will continue to play on dead duel servers. Fix the glitches, fix the goin in to walls on new mountain peak get your shit together.
It enabled you to peak around corners and can camp them with no risk to your self, while contraband is the only map atm there will be a 3v3 ranked and more maps added so take that what you will. That playstyle being mostly casino drags and toe sniffing since they required you to face away from your opponent to do going third person eliminates that and has very little downsides since you still have full view of your opponent. Yeah the usual stated dow side is having your character block your body this downside was totally negated simply by looking slightly down and at an angle meaning you had full fight ability while enabling point number 2.
The core issue with all 3 combined is there isnt much they can do without messing up the core combat to such a large degree. The devs have also stated they are looking to fix the extra wide resolution exploit to cap max fov.
The goal here is to make the game a level playing field for ranked and also trying to fix a very toxic style of play. Yes its unfortunate but there isnt much you can realistically do with third person because its inherit problems that enable some full blown jank.

It frustrates people, especially those that expect to see momentum and energy behind a strike, but instead they get a jacked up animation of a floating sword or whatever may be and get full damage from a weapon that is barely moving through the air. Drags and accels feel and look cheap, quite simply. The idea of them in the game is to help you vary your timings to catch your opponent off guard, but it ends up looking janky, fake and meaningless.
It feels more like an exploit of the physics engine than an actual technique, even if the tutorial tells you about it. The fact that it looks like you just lost 70 health to an attack with no momentum is ridiculous. Some players know it, the devs know it and they should be fixed in the nearset update. Also some drags are so slow, physics wise they shouldn't even do damage for you. Last edited by A. Tamren View Profile View Posts. I'm fine with the idea of dragging to modify the speed and direction of your swing, what I don't like about them is how dumb and unreadable the animations look.
For instance, if someone with a halberd does a normal horizontal swing you can clearly see the windup, the execution and the recovery as three distinct phases of the animation and react accordingly.
But then if someone takes dragging to an extreme with the same weapon what happens is they run up in front of you, then suddenly bend over at the waist, turn 90 degrees to the side and dab as your head suddenly flies off. Sounds stupid right? This disconnect between what you see and what's actually happening in game mechanics terms is made even worse by lag. It's result of how the game calculates damage and hitboxes.
In a more realistic game like mount and blade this sort of tactic would never work because your strikes don't have any force behind them.
But Mordhau doesn't calculate mass and velocity for anything, weapons simply paint damage tracers like a lightsaber and all it takes is touching the target. If you drag your weapon so that an enemy sits at the start of the animation you will instantly hit them for full damage. It's a necessary simplification for game purposes but it leads to a lot of stupid things like killing people with a couched carrot.
